backlit laser cut panels
Azara Landscapes were delighted to design and build this small garden in Queens Park for a young professional couple, who were looking for something contemporary that would complement the high-quality finish of their house interior, whilst making the most of the available space. Stark & Greensmith were asked to help with the design and fabrication of three Corten steel columns for the lounge area at the back of the garden. The backlit laser cut panels were used to create a beautiful focal point to the garden.
Azara Landscapes are an award-winning garden design landscaping team based in West London offering a full range of services, from initial design concepts, through to fully developed schemes with 3D visuals, showing in detail how your new outside space could work. Once complete, their skilled construction team can turn the design into reality, finishing all elements to the highest of standards.
The design team is led by Head Designer John Ward, a pre-registered member of the Society of Garden Designers. \”For this design I was looking for a contemporary focal point at the back of the garden and came up with the idea of three laser cut steel columns that could be back lit at night. I immediately thought of Stark & Greensmith and called them up to discuss the project. Right from the start they were great to deal with and we were able to talk through any issues from fabrication to on- site installation. Following approval of the drawings the columns were fabricated to a very high standard and delivered in quick time. Everything fitted perfectly making installation very straight forward. Both us and the clients were delighted with the outcome, especially the effect we got after dark when the lights were switched on.” – John Ward, Director & Head Designer of Azara Landscapes
The material used for the backlit laser cut panels is a weathering steel, also known as Corten which is characterised by its rich rust patina once weathered. Garden designers, horticulturalists and landscapers have embraced this material as the surface sits amazingly well in the natural landscape and works as an enhanced backdrop to planting, enriching the colour palettes chosen in the design.
Azara Landscapes is also a part of our amazing network of over 200 installers around the UK which can be found here.
